OUR ENVIRONMENT - THINK GREEN
Ever since Ian Clark (one of the partners) was young he has always
enjoyed and respected the beauty of our lakes and outdoors. Even
his cottage is 100% off the grid and solar powered. 3 Peaks
carries that respect for our environment in how we operate. Saving
the environment is not about saving money.
Recycling - Everything possible is recycled that we use in the
everyday operation of the business. All of our old computer
equipment is sent to a professional recycling company, and all of our
paper is shredded and recycled.
Office Building - When 3 Peaks moved into it's office in 2005 we
took over an old home that was built in the 50's. Immediately we
had an energy audit done on the building and it received a rating of
32/100. We immediately replaced the furnace, air conditioner,
windows, insulated the attic, installed energy efficient lighting and
had the basement walls spray insulated. The rating was then
increased to 61, with a rating of 51-65 being typical for an upgraded
older home, and 66+ for a typical new home.
Datacentre - For the past 2 years we have been virtualizing all
of our servers to reduce our power usage and thus our carbon footprint.
Hardware - All of the hardware that we purchase is selected for
it's power efficiency and power saving features. If you have used
hardware we'd be pleased to assist with the recycling of it. Even
old cables that contain copper are valuable. Visit

We can help you be greener with your IT - Virtualizing your
present IT infrastructure can reduce your power consumption by over 50%.
Ten Tips to Live a Greener Life
